december was not my month. finals came and went in the normal, high intensity, stressful fashion. darryl and i ended. i got ridiculously sick. a complete breakdown of mind and body with 104 fevers for a week straight and the realization that i had mono. the fun didn't stop there, my tonsils swelled to gargantuan levels and landed my mom and i in the e.r. on christmas eve for presents of steroids to keep me swallowing and breathing christmas day.
in hindsight it sounds a bit dramatic but anything that brings me down enough to willingly leave my peppered palm oasis for more than a night is pretty bad. i can't thank my mom enough for giving up her bed, feeding me incredible food, going to what seemed like every medical facility the central coast has to offer and getting me back on my feet. this will definitely be a christmas we will remember.
before all these shenanigans went down i got a christmas tree with my two favorite girlies. it was an afternoon / evening affair with a trip to avila valley barn, ice cream, watching elf and eating chocolate chip pancakes on the living room floor. these blondes make everything more fun.
i hope everyone had a very merry christmas and are looking forward to a fresh year as much as i am.
happy sunday!
