i never thought when i met the berry's in my sophomore year at cal poly that i would develop such a strong relationship with them. i haven't babysat them for almost a year but robyn tells me that they still ask about me every other week. they leave notes and pictures for me at the store. i love these girls like they're my own and felt beyond blessed when their mom demanded that i go out to dinner with them at madonna inn. can't say no to that.
so in true madonna inn style i put on flowered bell bottom pants, cowboy boots and my leather jacket to join these gals at the pink room. robyn, true to her talented photographer self, wasted no time in taking pictures and the girls immediately cuddled up with me in a booth showering me with kisses and hugs throughout the evening. we caught up, enjoyed several "pink clouds", well robyn and i did, chloe got a shirley temple and phoebe, who is scared of "the bubbles" got apple juice. explored the gift shop, discussed which rooms we would stay in, threw wish pennies in the fountain and checked out both bathrooms. for those of you who think i'm crazy for "checking out bathrooms" see the madonna inn website and trust me when i say the bathrooms are designed just as extravagantly as the rest of the place.
true to the tragedy that is growing up, both girls have gotten so much bigger. and chloe, who was my little four year old in pre school is now seven and acting way too old. where did this little girl go??
excuse me while i feel really old, soak my feet and drink tea. and thank you to the berry family for having two of my favorite girls on this earth. and for making me feel like a princess last friday night.
TGIF people!
