the adobe on green street.

posting pictures of the bed and breakfast steven and i stayed at in may has been on my to-do list for a while. i highly recommend the adobe on green street in santa cruz. the place was 100% magic with all its nooks and crannies hidden all over the property. and it was walking distance to downtown and nestled in the prettiest neighborhood. i'm crossing my fingers that we're heading back in october for another getaway.

happy monday (and labor day for those of you who have it off, myself not included)

pleasure point.

another stop on our trip up to santa cruz. it seems like forever ago that i was sitting in shorts and a tank top on the beach.

happy friday!

the good life.

our adventure in santa cruz was everything i wanted. this was the first leg of the trip, photos of our 24 hour escape into henry cowell state park. our campsite was beautiful and the weather was perfect. in the hustle and bustle of working sometimes i forget what a day filled only with natural light can be like.

hopefully these photos provide a taste of the bliss we had adventuring in the redwoods. as with any vacation it's hard to come back to the grind. i can't lie, we're already planning our next trip.

note pictured, but noteworthy: banana slugs!!, the BOMB burgers steven made, kat eating lots of s'mores and drinking wine, and our super creepy night hike.

happy thursday!

flower child.

i spent last saturday afternoon basking in the sun on my good friend kristene's front porch making flower crowns for her kiddos and sipping wine. mostly for fun but also to practice for an upcoming fashion show ecobambino will be participating in at the end of the month.

this week has been absolutely nuts with work. but that will only make my four day vacation that much sweeter right?

happy thursday!

4/8/15

can't hardly wait.

it's hard to believe that about a year ago i met steven smith at a little backyard bbq. the exact date when we started dating eludes both of us. for me, the day would have been a certain sunny afternoon at shell beach. but with the chaos of graduation, senior project and life transition stress i lost track of that day entirely.

so steven and i are going on an adventure in may to find a day. and spend some quality time with each other. and forget about being hardworking, (mostly) predictable adults.

we're going to santa cruz.

i'm so excited for:

hiking in big basin.
a campfire. (and cheeseburgers, and jalapeno poppers and smores)
the adobe on green, probably the cutest bed and breakfast i could ever find. (that's it in the picture!!)
exploring old neighborhoods.
keeping it weird, downtown santa cruz style.
lots of singing and driving and chit chat with my best friend.

happy wednesday!!

inspiration.

there's been so much inspiration to this week, and it's only wednesday!

construction started on the chinatown project across the street from the store. i'm really stoked on it. for multiple reasons but one being they're building apartments in the top level. said apartments are serving as my current inspiration for saving my nickels and dimes. because i would sell all my little toes and my mother to own one of those. just kidding mom. toes, maybe not.

after watching the videos from my last post, and talking with my boss-er-roo at the office about the project plans, i'm excited to see these historical buildings come alive again.

and the materialistic, trendy person in my is (sorry, kind of not sorry) excited to see h&m come to town. there's a space in my on-trend, affordable, semi-professional, everyday clothing needs that old navy and forever 21 aren't really filling.

in other news i saw gorgeous photos of an old acquaintance which led me to this website. which inspired me and got me thinking about how i really should start putting in some good ol' practice makes perfect photo editing work and start myself a website and portfolio of my own. fun fact: while creeping around job posting for more big girl positions of the work i'm already doing, i noticed that to apply you MUST have an online portfolio.

and speaking of practice makes perfect, the trip this blogger took is to die for. here's the link for some of the other trips the company she went with puts on. i think i'll try and start with something a little closer to home. but inspiration nonetheless.

happy wednesday!

a must see.

as a full fledged slo history geek, i can't believe i hadn't seen these videos yet. it can be a little corny at times but overall - fascinating information, photos and stories. i may or may not have teared up a bit when it went over the historical buildings of monterey. but that might just be the sleep deprivation. they've finally started construction on the new chinatown project and will be restoring the sad, old buildings across the street that i stare at on the daily.

last night was filled with all sorts of dinner/drinks/dancing shenanigans with the ecobambino crew to celebrate alex, who's graduating cal poly and leaving us to adventure in europe soon.

happy friday!!
