time traveling

after getting over being sick by sleeping all day yesterday, sunday is catch up day. errand day. whatever you'd like to call it. which ultimately might be my favorite day of the week. there is something ridiculously satisfying about having a big to do list of lots of random little things, mine's written on my huge whiteboard, and being able to (literally) check them off. the big thing on the list? homework, what else are sundays for? mine includes reading an excerpt of "summer boys", a guilty pleasure adolescent read which i'm stoked to time travel on back to my teens while reading.

and while i'm on the subject of time travel, i thought i'd give my rant review of cloud atlas to the blog-o-sphere. spoiler alert. i wasn't a fan. it had a pretty cool concept of reincarnation / meeting your soul mates in various lives, that got me jazzed up about seeing it. but in reality, it was a concept that couldn't get covered in three hours of run time. and believe me, they stretched that reel for all it was worth. so if you've got an extra three hours to kill on something that will likely leave you confused and wanting more. go for it! if you're like me and want to leave the theater satisfied and able to move on to the next item on her to do list, wait til it comes out on redbox over christmas break and watch it up!
